We plan to inject Hot Natural Gas (400 degrees F) into the
heavy oil formation. This will heat heavy oil, liberate
natural solvents and chemicals and reduce the gravity of
the oil. We believe this will drastically increase both oil
and gas production.
After reviewing a number of technologies
including RF, microwave, and steam
methodologies from a number of vendors
including operators producing heavy oil in
Russia, China and Canada, we believe the best
technology is with a new technique that has had
recent success in our local area. The new
technology is called Hydraulic Gas Compression
and has been demonstrated on heavy gravity oil
on the nearby Kieffer lease also located in
Zavala County. The technique involves a
compressor running on natural gas and uses 2
large hydraulic rams that compress produced
gas, raising the temperature of the gas to 320
degrees F and then forcing it into the formation,
which enables the crude to flow in commercial
quantities. The first well on the Kieffer Lease is
producing 65 BOPD of 13 gravity API oil. Our
Engineer, J.D. Johnson has developed new
tools that will allow us to use off the shelf gas
compressors and increase gas temperatures to
400 degrees F. We feel this will produce more
heavy oil and gas than produced on the Kieffer
with less engineering expense.
